From our earliest beginnings as a general hardware merchant mainly servicing Southland's rural market, the company has grown to occupy a retail space of over 3,500 square metres and today provides both rural and metropolitan customers with an extensive range of product lines, on-site workshop services, knowledgeable and helpful staff and much more.

E Hayes & Sons Hammer Hardware provide retail departments offering leading brand Hardware, Automotive, Outdoor Power Equipment, Paint, Kitchenware, Outdoor Clothing and Giftware share space throughout the store with a personal collection of over 100 classic and vintage motorcycles, cars, machinery and equipment known as the E Hayes Motorworks Collection.

This is FREE TO VIEW during shop hours, the collection is centred around the display of Burt Munro’s Authentic, Original and Legendary ‘World’s Fastest Indian’ motorcycle. This unique collection has turned the store into a first-class tourist attraction and visitor experience recognised world-wide and attracting around 10,000 visitors and enthusiasts every year.
